Upgrade SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 Beta
Do you like to upgrade your LAB from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 Beta? Take a look in this blog to not forget the prerequisites…
Prerequisites
- Install the “Winodws Assessement and Deployment Kit (ADK) for WIndows 8″ (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=252874) on the SCCM Server. Take care when your time is short –> while installing, it will download about 3GB…
- Upgrade SQL 2008 R2 to SP2 (or with SP1, install Cumulative Update6 OR install SQL 2012 with Cumulative Update 2) –> http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=232936
If all the prerequisites are achieved, go ahead with the upgrade installation.
Upgrade steps
Yeeeahh, not so difficult – we will share more an deeper details about the new Beta soon…
Now start the Admin Console and play with it…
Cheers
Chris
Nice, SQL 2012 is supported for Beta 🙂
Here is the Link for WSUS Update, to support Server 2012 and Windows 8, when WSUS is running on a 2008 Server:

Any idea if you can upgrade SCCM 2012 SP1 Beta to SCCM 2012 SP1 RTM when that comes out?
AFAIK only TAP customers receive an upgrade path. MS don’t official support upgrade Path from Beta to RTM
I’ve just tested in my LAB with the SP1 RTM and it worked! BUT, it’s not supported…
I upgraded an existing Site to play with it. It shows installed under “Add/Remove” programs, however there is no indications that anything SP1 has actually installed. None of the options in the console have changed such as MAC support etc.. When I try to uninstall SP1, it says “This isn’t really installed, want to remove it from the list?” Something didn’t work right.
